A feature documentary following the extraordinary journey of Zhongjing Fang ("Ziggy"), a soloist with American Ballet Theatre whose life has been defined by perseverance, resilience, sacrifice, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Selected as one of only eighteen children from thousands to train at Shanghai Ballet School, Ziggy left China at eighteen to pursue her dream of dancing in the United States. For more than two decades, she has built an internationally celebrated career with American Ballet Theatre while navigating injury, motherhood, cultural identity, and the ever-changing meaning of being an artist.
Now, after twenty-five years away, Ziggy is returning to her hometown of Shanghai for a deeply meaningful homecoming. As she begins to contemplate when her final bow will take place, she will perform for audiences in China for the first time since building her career abroad—a full-circle moment that represents not only a return home, but also a celebration of everything she has overcome.
